Statement of Faith #14-Millennial Reign of Christ

Official Assembly of God Statement of Faith #14-The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel, and the establishment of universal peace.

We believe that at the end of the 7 year tribulation, Christ will return to the earth to establish his reign for 1000 years. During this time there will be no war as there will be an establishment of universal peace. In Isaiah 11:6-10 and 12 the bible speaks of the lion and the lamb lying together, child leading the animals, an infant playing near the hole of a cobra. It will be a truly peaceful and wonderful place. All of this will occur after the Battle of Armageddon in which after the tribulation, Christ arrives on the earth and their is a great and bloody battle with Satan and his army. Satan will lose and will be bound during the thousand years.

Also in the bible, in Ezekiel 7:21-23, it says that God will bring the salvation of Israel. "This is what the sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back to their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people and I will be their God."

"He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. THey will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the Lord Almighty has spoken." Micah 4:3-4
